Marina, Lagos Island

John Oyeleke pulled to a halt by the curb. He glanced casually at the building under construction. He took in a deep breath then exhaled slowly. He was here for the hunt. He got out a bluetooth device and stucked it to his ear. Then he got out of the BMW and walked to the trunk. He got out a duffel bag, slammed shut the trunk and walked briskly to the buiding. He made his way in and hurried up the stairs to one of the open spaces that fitted his purpose. He got to work quickly occasionally glancing at his watch. He did a few push-ups to prep himself, but also to kill time while he waited for his target, and the call.

About five minutes later, he knew his target was within the area. He looked out and saw the governor's motorcade stopping. Then he got the call. The man at the other end- the man he had never met- gave him the go ahead. Oyeleke found the governor through his target scope, aimed for an head shot and went for it. The governor's head blew open like a squashed watermelon. Oyeleke got his stuffs and hurried away. He had a flight out of the country to catch. It was all part of the plan.

Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos Mainland

Billionaire businessman, Ayo Gbadamosi laughed heartily as he herded his family out of the Silverbird Cinemas at the busy Ikeja City Mall. Something his petite, ex-model wife said got him laughing. Gbadamosi was glad to be away from his office and its stress, to be with his delightsome family. So many people noticed the Gbadamosis. They were not particuarly difficult to spot. They oozed money. Amongst those who noticed them- who in fact was watching them- was Amadi Dike, ex-Niger Delta militant now turned contract killer.

Dike watched them for awhile as they moved about enjoying the company of family, getting all sorts- whatever catches their fancy. Dike wanted to do him now. He was eager for it. He felt Gbadamosi was one of the things that was wrong with the country- filthy businessman! As far he was concerned no one in Nigeria made his or her money clean. There was always an element of corruption. He should know, he was from the Niger Delta.

When he had been offered this job by the unknown man, Dike was more than happy to do it. And now the only thing stopping him was the call from his employer. Timing was everything, his employer had said. It was part of the plan whatever that was. He didn't know what the paln was, he wasn't the mastermind here. It made him feel like a pawn in a chess game, but what could he do? Just then the call came in- about the same time the governor was being executed. He got the go ahead. He walked quickly to where Gbadamosi was, with his family. He wasn't bothered about the crowd at the mall, nor was he worried he'll get caught. He knew he'll be out of the country in an hour after this kill. He stepped ever closer. He got out his colt .45 with a silencer attached, put the muzzle to Gbadamosi back and queezed out two shots. He walked away quickly even as Gbadamosi fell forward, very dead and as dead as dead can be.
