He couldn't remember just how he had gotten there but something felt strangely off about the whole place. For one thing, the sun was not particularly visible in the clear sky, although there was a dark brightness on the horizon and across the wasteland. He staggered to his feet and fought down a wave of nausea. He also felt vertigo as though he was several feet in the air, but as far as he could tell he was standing on terra firma, not some skyscraper somewhere. What really burned him wasn't the environment- even though it nagged at him; what really burned him was the fact that he couldn't remember a damn thing about how he got into this strange and creepy place.
