Tragedy struck!

It took her a moment, but eventually, the fog cleared. She stood there, stupefied and unable to move. Her mind felt numb. Her mouth was hanging open, although she wasn't aware of it. Her face was twisted in fear, panic and disbelief. Slowly, the noises started to return. She heard the screams and the shouts of fleeing youths, of running feet, of body bumping into one another.  She heard the report of rifle blasts, of the crack, crack of gunshots. With the sound, came the sights. Her brain finally getting the information through to her. She saw faces masked with fear, panic and disbelief. She saw the protesters as they ran for dear life. All around her, they were running. Some stumbled and fell. Some were fell with the impacts of a bullets piecing through their tender flesh.  There was pandemonium. She finally got a hold of herself. Someone jostled her, another one spun her. She found herself now facing towards the soldiers. She saw him in his khaki, in all of his full glory....
