Shipwrecked

She woke up groaning, her head throbbing, splinters of pain shooting through, like shafts of light breaking into a dark space. She clutched her head in her hands while she slowly rolled herself to a sitting position. She could smell the foliage and hear the gentle lap of the wave admist the rolling pain in her head. She laid back on the soft, wet sand, her eyes closed, the waves caressing her bare feet, letting the sharp pains in her head subside. She couldn't quite make out where she was, but she could remember how she got there. And the memory was not a pleasant one, or one she wanted desperately to remember. She refocused her mind to where she was presently. She listened to the forest behind her, gathering her thought, trying not to think of what laid ahead. For now, she was content to just lie there and pretends she was at the beach and everything was alright with the world.
